How to Add a Follow Button on Facebook?

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Add a Follow Button on Facebook

To do this, you must change two privacy settings in your Facebook settings. The settings are “Who Can Follow Me” and “Who can send you friend requests” in your privacy settings.

After you change these settings, you’ll have a follow button on your Facebook account. The only requirement for this is that you’re over 18 years old.

Now let’s see how you can do it:

1. Tap on the “Menu” icon

Tap on the “Menu” icon
Tap on the “Menu” icon

Begin by opening Facebook and tapping the three-line icon located in the top-right corner. See it in the screenshot above?

Yep, tap that icon!

2. Click on the Gear Icon

Next, you should see a menu with various options and icons all over the place. Ignore those. Instead, look for the gear icon (near the magnifying glass icon in the top-right corner).

Select that and keep reading (please):

3. Select the “How People Can Find and Contact You

You’ll find it under the Audience and Visibility” header (check the mage above).

Select the option you need and keep reading my next instructions:

On this page (see above), you’ll get to choose between two options:

  • Everyone
  • Friends of Friends

Meaning that either EVERYONE can send you friend requests or only friends of your friends. Select the latter (Friends of friends) and keep reading!

6. Return to the Settings and select “Follower and Public Content.”

Return to the Settings and select “Follower and Public Content”
Return to the Settings and select “Follower and Public Content.”

Now, get back to the previous page (from step 3) and look for the “Followers and public content” option (you can see it highlighted above).

Select that!

7. Select “Public” under the “Who Can Follow Me?” Menu

My name is Alex and I have a knack for social media in all its shapes and forms. I’ve dealt with such things for quite some time and I noticed that many people have issues with social media and technicalities.

Unforeseen errors, bugs, and other problems make their use of social media problematic. These things will be discussed amply in the guides on Whizcase.

I'll present the facts as they are, and offer quick and easy solutions for them.
