How Can You Make an NSFW Channel on Discord?

Open the desktop version of Discord and create a new channel.

Then, go to the channel’s settings and enable NSFW Channel.

That’s it! Now the channel is NSFW, and members will be able to see that.

When members open this channel, they’ll see a notification that warns them the channel is NSFW.

They need to click on “Continue” to access the channel or “Nope” to exit.

But you can only mark a channel as NSFW on the desktop version of Discord.

Follow the steps below to make an NSFW channel on Discord:

Open Discord on your desktop and go to your server.

Then, right-click on the empty space in your channel list and select Create Channel.

Alternatively, if you already have a channel you want to mark as NSFW, jump to step 2!

  • Click on the gear icon next to the channel’s name

Once you create the new server, you must go to the channel’s settings.

To do so, click on the gear icon next to the channel’s name.

Your channel list is on the main screen when you open Discord.

As for the gear icon, it should be beside the “Invite” icon.

Click on it to open the Settings.

  • Enable “Age-Restricted Channel”

When you go to the channel’s settings, you’ll see several options in the Overview menu.

One of them is “Age-Restricted Channel, which is essentially NSFW.

Enable it, so it turns green, and then click on “Save Changes” at the bottom.

If you don’t save your changes, the settings won’t be saved so that the channel won’t be NSFW.

You’ll receive a warning if you try to open the NSFW channel.

Either click “Continue” to enter the channel or “Nope” to refuse to enter. You’ve been warned!

Adult content could mean anything from sexuality to brutality and anything in-between.

If you’re too sensitive and don’t want to see these things, click on “Nope”.

Conclusion

Making an NSFW channel on Discord is not hard, as long as you do it on the desktop.

You can’t use the app if you want to do it on a mobile device.

You need to do it in a browser, and the Discord website isn’t optimized for mobile devices.

So, you may have to rotate your device. It isn’t very pleasant and certainly not comfortable.

It’s better to make your NSFW channel on a desktop computer through the app.

FAQ

What happens if you post NSFW content on a non-NSFW channel?

It depends on how lenient the moderators of that server are.

If they have zero tolerance for this behavior, they may permanently ban you from the group.

If you made a mistake, they may understand this and let you off with a warning.

But if the server rules specifically state that NSFW content is disallowed on all servers but NSFW ones, you should expect punishment if you do it.

NSFW could mean anything pornographic, vulgar, indecent, obscene, brutal, and so on.

Even the Discord ToS mention that non-NSFW channels are protected from NSFW content.

If someone breaks the rule, then they’ll be banned.

Unforeseen errors, bugs, and other problems make their use of social media problematic. These things will be discussed amply in the guides on Whizcase.

I'll present the facts as they are, and offer quick and easy solutions for them.
