Apple Watch doesn’t support Snapchat because the app requires a functioning camera to operate. And last time I checked, Apple Watches didn’t have cameras…
However, there’s a workaround that lets you use Snapchat on an Apple Watch:
- Launch Siri on your Apple Watch
- Say “Google Search“
- Wait for Ciri to ask you what you want to search for
- Reply “Google.com”
- Tap the “Open Page” button
- Type in “Snapchat login“
- Select the first Snapchat link
- Enter your credentials
This won’t let you reply to snaps or take photos. That’s why you have a phone. But you can still check your notifications on the Apple Watch.
If you’re having trouble following the steps above, check the guide below, as I’ll be explaining all of this in more details.

Honestly, Do You Even Need to Have Snapchat on an Apple Watch?
I personally have no need for it, but to each their own, I guess…
I can see that it would be more convenient, though. No one “needs” Apple Watches, just like we don’t “need” smartphones. But smartphones offer a helluva’ lot more convenience than analog phones.
They offer comfort, convenience, and a host of features that make our lives easier.
The same goes for using Snapchat on Apple Watch… I guess Β―\_(γ)_/Β― ?.
It might not be the most comfortable thing in the world, but for some people, it’s more convenient than using Snapchat on a phone.
And since I am here to help you and not to judge, here are a couple of reasons why you might want to use Snapchat on the Apple Watch (this is even rhyming, hehe):
- Read notifications fast
- See your friend’s snaps faster
- Scroll through the Snapchat feed faster
It doesn’t seem like much, but for people with Apple Watches, using their watch is much faster than fishing out their phones from their pockets.
So, Let’s Get to It, Then: How To Use Snapchat on Apple Watch
You might be wondering what you can do with Snapchat on an Apple Watch. Well, here’s a list of things you can do on Snapchat from an Apple Watch:
- Check your friends’ stories
- Read your friends’ messages and see the snaps they send
- Search for people’s profiles on the app
- Use the Snap Map feature and find out where your friends are at
You can’t reply to Snapchat messages, though. This is because Snapchat doesn’t support the watchOS, so some features won’t be available.
You can still use your Apple Watch and iPhone to take photos with your watch (technically, the iPhone takes the photos but you control the process with your watch).
It’s a little tricky, but you can pull it off.
Let’s sum it all up:
So, there you have it. While you can’t install Snapchat on the Apple Watch, you can still use the app through Google.
You can use the Snapchat app through their official website! Tell Siri you want to do a Google search, and look for “Snapchat login“. Enter your credentials, and that’s it.
