How Can You Remove a Business Account from Instagram?

The option to switch between Instagram accounts is in the Account Settings.

You can access your Account Settings from your profile.

So, the first thing you need to do is open Instagram and go to your profile.

Once you’re there, open the Account Settings and select “Switch to professional/personal account”.

Remember that if you switch to a personal account from your business account, you’ll lose all the business insights and information about your business.

Just follow the steps below to do this:

1. Open Instagram and go to your profile

Begin by opening Instagram and going to your profile page – tap your profile picture located in the bottom-right corner.

You can only access the app settings from your profile page, so that’s where you’ll be going now!

2. Tap on Menu and then “Settings

After arriving on your profile page, you’ll see various information related to your account, including the number of posts, people who follow you, people you follow, and friend recommendations.

Look for the Menu icon (three-line icon) in the top-right corner, select it, and then select the “Settings” option in the menu at the bottom of the app.

3. Select “Account”

Opening the Instagram settings will put you face to face with a boatload of options to choose from. Don’t be intimidated, though.

Select “Account” and see my next instructions:

4. Select “Switch account type

The “Account page” will let you personalize your account settings, language, account status, browser settings, sensitive content control, and more.

You can also request an account verification, limit cellular data usage, or change the language and captions.

But let’s return to what we were doing…

Scroll down to the very bottom of the “Account” settings, and you’ll see two blue options – “Switch Account type” and “Add new professional account.

Select “Switch account type” to remove your business account and switch to your personal one!

5. Select “Switch to personal account

Once you select “Switch account type,” a menu will pop up with two options – “Switch to personal account” and “Switch to creator account.”

Guess which one to select? “Switch to personal account“, right.

This will let you experience Instagram the way it was meant to be experienced, like a regular user.

You’ll be able to post pictures, comment, make your account private, and access some features that a business account doesn’t have.

Select the second option if you want to switch to your creator account.

A creator account lets you easily control your online presence and manage your channel’s growth.

Like a personal and business account, the creator account has unique features that you can’t use otherwise.

6. Confirm your choice

After you select “Switch to a personal account,” Instagram will ask you to confirm that you REALLY want to do that.

All the insights related to your business, content, and promotions will be removed permanently until you switch back to your business account.

Tap on “Switch to Personal Account” to confirm to the robot that you do want to make the switch.

That’s it; you’ve just removed your business account from Instagram. Got any other questions or need help with something else? I’m always in the comments section, ready to help out!
