How to Search Stickers on TikTok?

TikTok stickers are the magic thingies that let you enrich a post with your personal touch! But, where can you find them and how do you use them?

Let me explain…

Do these to search for stickers on TikTok:

  1. Tap on the “Post” icon at the bottom of the TikTok app
  2. Select the “Upload” option
  3. Select a picture/video you want to upload on TikTok
  4. Tap on the “Stickers” icon in the top right corner
  5. Select a sticker or use the search bar to find a specific sticker

Reminder – the steps above will only let you access TikTok’s database of stickers (from Giphy).

But what if you want to find other stickers or create your own? Well, as it stands, I’m here to teach you just want – finding all manner of stickers online.

Read below for a detailed guide on that!

How to Search Stickers on TikTok?

How Can You Search for Stickers on TikTok?

First, I’ll show you how to find the TikTok stickers, and then we’ll look at other stickers you can find online.

Let’s start, shall we?

1. Tap on the “Post” icon at the bottom of the TikTok app

Begin by opening TikTok and tapping on the “Post” icon at the bottom of the page – that’ll let you upload a picture or video to post.

2. Select “Upload” in the bottom-right corner

Select "Upload" in the bottom-right corner

The “Post” button will take you to the camera feature where you can shoot a video or photo. But for this guide, I’m just going to use a photo in my gallery, so tap “Upload” to follow along!

3. Select a photo/video to upload

On this page, you’ll see all the photos and videos on your phone. At the top of the page, you’ll see the sorting category. Mine is “Recent” (see above).

Select another sorting method if you can’t find the content you want to upload. Then, select the photo/video, and continue with the next step!

4. Tap on the “Stickers” icon in the top-right list

Good, now that you’ve uploaded something, it’s time to go sticker hunting. Tap the “Stickers” icon on the right-hand side menu bar, and see what I do next:

5. Find a sticker and select it

On this page (see the screenshot above), you’ll see an entire list of stickers and emojis. Make sure the “Stickers” category is highlighted at the top, and then scroll through the list until you find something you like.

Alternatively, you can use the search bar at the top of the screen to find a specific sticker. Search for terms such as “frog” or “horse” or something relevant to your sticker.

Then, select it and finish the editing process to post the photo/video on TikTok.

And that’s all you have to do to use a local TikTok sticker. But that’s a bit stale, right? Certainly, you can do better by finding other online stickers… And you can, just read below!

Can You Make New Stickers for TikTok?

Sure, you can. I recommend using the GIPHY Sticker Maker on the official GIPHY website. Search for “Giphy Sticker Maker” on Google and open the website (see what website I’m talking about in the picture below).

It should be the third link on Google, under the GIPHY website. Click on the GIPHY link and proceed to the next step.

Then, follow the steps below to create/edit your own GIF or sticker for TikTok:

1. Click on “Create” in the upper-right corner

Once the GIPHY website is opened, look for the “Create” button in the top-right corner (it looks…blue? Or magenta, yeah). Select it and take a look below.

Reminder – you’ll have to log in to do this (so, create an account).

2. Click on “Choose File” under “GIF

After you create an account, log in, and select “Create” (the step above), you’ll see this page (the one above). See the “GIF” option?

Select it to start creating your own GIF.

Alternatively, you can enter the URL to the GIF or select a Sticker to edit. I’ve prepared a GIF beforehand, so I’ll select the GIF option.

3. Edit the GIF

This is where the fun stuff happens (or the tricky part, if you’re like me). You’ll be editing the sticker by choosing the style, animation, and color, selecting a caption, drawing, and so on.

Look through them, edit your GIF/Sticker, and proceed to the last step when you’re done.

4. Click on “Continue to Upload

Click on "Continue to Upload"
Click on “Continue to Upload”

Once you’re done editing your GIF/sticker, look at the bottom of the screen for the “Continue to Upload” button and click on it.

This is how you can save an edited GIF/sticker. You upload it to your GIPHY account, and then everyone can access it and download it from there.

In the photo above, you can see the GIF I edited. I can share, embed, or download it to my device by right-clicking on it and selecting “Save image as…“.

Then, you can download the GIF/sticker to your phone via WhatsApp or another platform. Once you do that, you’ll have access to the GIPHY GIF/Sticker on TikTok.

To use the edited GIF/sticker, go to the “Stickers” option in the TikTok upload screen and select the icon in the screenshot below.

Select the Plus icon
Select the Plus icon

It should be the third icon in the “Recommended” list (see the image above). That option will let you choose content from your mobile phone.

Finally, find the sticker you just created and use it freely on whatever TikToks you wanna post!

Now, if you have any questions or need help with something else, I’m always up for a helping hand in the comments section!

Where else can I find stickers for TikTok?

GIPHY is not the only GIF/stickers platform out there. TikTok only collaborates with GIPHY, though.

If you want to find other stickers that aren’t on GIPHY, look for other sticker platforms on Google.

Another popular one is Tenor. Please create an account there, download any stickers or GIFS, edit them, and use them on TikTok.

Alternatively, you can use Google Images for GIFs or stickers. All the content there is free, and you can use it without worrying about copyrights.

To use stickers on TikTok that you find on other platforms, do the same as above for GIPHY.

Download the GIF/sticker on your computer, transfer it to your phone, and then use it on TikTok through the “Stickers” option.

Can I create brand-new stickers for TikTok?

Yes, you can.

The guide above only shows you how to edit existing GIFs or stickers. But what if you want to create new ones?

You can use GIPHY Maker for that too. Instead of uploading a GIF, you can upload an image.

Then, use the Lasso tool to crop a portion of the image and then edit it to transform it into a Sticker or GIF.

Other platforms that let you create stickers are EZGifs, GifMaker, Canva, and more. I don’t have too much experience with creating GIFs, so I can’t recommend a particular one.

You’ll have to experience and see for yourself.

My name is Alex and I have a knack for social media in all its shapes and forms. I’ve dealt with such things for quite some time and I noticed that many people have issues with social media and technicalities.

Unforeseen errors, bugs, and other problems make their use of social media problematic. These things will be discussed amply in the guides on Whizcase.

I'll present the facts as they are, and offer quick and easy solutions for them.
