1. Select a playlist
The first thing you should do after starting Spotify is to select a playlist. That’s where you’ll find all your songs.
2. Double-click on a song
Once you select a playlist, you’ll end up on another page where you can see all the songs in that playlist. Double-click on one of them to play the song.
3. Click on the “Lyrics” button
Once you play a song, a bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click on the “Lyrics” icon in the bottom-right corner. It looks like a mic.
4. Read the lyrics
Once you click on the mic icon, the lyrics will appear on full screen. To close them, press ESC on your keyboard or return to a previous page on Spotify.

If you’re on a mobile device and you want to find the song lyrics on Spotify, follow the steps below:

Open Spotify on your mobile device and select one of the playlists there. What you choose doesn’t matter as long as you like a song in the playlist.

Once you open a playlist, you should play a song. Any song, it doesn’t matter. Then, once you play the song, a small window with the song’s name should appear at the bottom of the screen.
Tap on that window.

Once you tap on the small song window at the bottom, you’ll open a page with more options for that song. If you scroll down, you’ll see a window with the lyrics.
To fully screen the lyrics, tap on the “Enlarge” icon in the top-right corner of the lyrics window.
4. Have fun with the lyrics
After you tap on the “Enlarge” icon, you’ll open an e new window with the song lyrics on full screen. You can read the lyrics here, and if you want to exit, go back to the previous screen.
Why Aren’t the Lyrics Appearing on Spotify?
If you followed the guide above and yet you can’t find the Spotify lyrics or the “Lyrics” button isn’t there, then there are several explanations for this:
- Your internet connection is too weak
- The Spotify app is outdated
- Something is going on with your Spotify account
- The Spotify servers are down
- That specific song has no lyrics
I recommend switching from Wi-Fi to Mobile Data on your mobile phone or restarting your router if you’re on a computer.
This will reset your internet connection and, hopefully, restore your Spotify functionality.
You should update your Spotify app from the Google Play Store if this doesn’t work. Open it on your phone, search for “Google Play Store“, and update it if necessary.
Lastly, you should log out of your Spotify account and log back in to reset the session. Maybe there’s a glitch with your Spotify account.
To log out of your Spotify account, follow the steps below:
1. Tap on the Gear icon in the top-right corner
With your Spotify app opened, look in the top-right corner for the Gear icon. Tap on it and continue with the guide.
2. Select “Log out“
Once you get to your Spotify settings through the Gear icon, scroll down to the bottom of the options page. Here, you’ll find the “Log out” button.
Then, you have to log back in, and that’s it. Now, the lyrics should show up as normal. If they don’t, there’s something wrong with the Spotify servers.
The Spotify lyrics may not appear because your internet connection is weak or your Spotify app is outdated.
The Spotify servers may also be down, or the company tasked with creating the lyrics, MusixMatch, hasn’t done their job, although that’s highly unlikely.
If nothing works, I recommend contacting Spotify customer support or creating a post on the official Spotify forums.
