To open your settings, you must first open the Instagram Menu. Do this by tapping on the Hamburger icon. Once you tap on your profile picture, you’ll arrive on your profile page.

This icon looks like three horizontal lines, and it’s located in the top right corner.

3. Select “Settings

Once you tap on the Hamburger icon, a new menu will open at the bottom of the screen. Here, you’ll find several options, including “Settings“, “Archive“, “Your activity“, “QR Code“, “Saved“, and more.

Select “Settings” to proceed.

4. Go to “Privacy

On the “Privacy” page, find the “Connections” header. Under it, you should find the “Blocked accounts” option. Select it to proceed.

You may need to scroll down the options list to find the “Blocked accounts” option!

6. Unblock the user

The final step is unblocking the user. On the “Blocked accounts“, you’ll find a list of everyone you’ve blocked on Instagram.

Navigate to the person you want to unblock and tap on “Unblock“. Instagram will immediately unblock that person.

You get the “User not found” notification because you’ve blocked the other person. Or they’ve blocked you.

To get rid of this error, you can unblock that user from your Instagram settings by following these steps:

  • Log into your Instagram account
  • Go to your profile
  • Tap on the Hamburger icon
  • Select “Settings
  • Go to “Privacy
  • Select “Blocked Accounts
  • Tap on “Unblock” next to the account

You should have no problem contacting that person or visiting their profile page after you unblock them. Similarly, they’ll be able to visit your profile page and talk to you normally.

However, if you keep getting the “User not found” error, it might be because they’ve blocked you too. And unblocking them will change nothing.

In that case, try contacting that person elsewhere to tell them to unblock you on Instagram.

My name is Alex and I have a knack for social media in all its shapes and forms. I’ve dealt with such things for quite some time and I noticed that many people have issues with social media and technicalities.

Unforeseen errors, bugs, and other problems make their use of social media problematic. These things will be discussed amply in the guides on Whizcase.

I'll present the facts as they are, and offer quick and easy solutions for them.
