Can I Upload Hollywood Movies on Odysee?

Are you trying to upload Hollywood movies to Odysee and the LBRY blockchain so everyone can access them?

You can do that! Odysee allows you to upload up to 4GB worth of video on the platform in one attempt. If you’re not trying to upload Bluray movies, then 4GB is more than enough.

However, there’s something you must ask yourself. Is the movie you want to upload copyright-protected? If you don’t own it and you have to right to upload it, the video might be “filtered out” from LBRY.

This means that people may be unable to find the movies on LBRY because they’re filtered out.

After you complete all the necessary fields, you can upload the Hollywood movie to Odysee. At the bottom of the page, you’ll see the “Upload” button. Click on it, and Odysee will upload your movie to LBRY.

What Does It Mean if My Uploads Are Filtered Out?

As I said in the beginning, if you upload content that is copyright-protected on Odysee, it might get filtered out.

This means that people will not be able to find it. The content will still be on the LBRY blockchain, but people won’t find it.

So, it kind of defeats the purpose of uploading that movie on Odysee if people won’t be able to view it.

Even if the movie is publicly available on torrenting networks, it’s still pirated and protected by copyrights. Odysee doesn’t support piracy and fully upholds copyrights.

So, even if you are technically free to upload Hollywood movies on the LBRY blockchain, it doesn’t mean Odysee can’t do anything to prevent you from spreading copyright-protected materials online.

By filtering out your uploads, other people won’t be able to find them. So, they are effectively protecting copyrighted materials by doing this.

Conclusion

In short, while you can upload Hollywood movies to Odysee (up to 4GB per upload), it doesn’t mean others will be able to see your uploads.

If your uploads are copyright-protected and you have no rights to possess or distribute them, Odysee will filter them out.

Even if you manage to upload them to the LBRY blockchain, it’s useless. They won’t be visible to other people.
