How Can You Verify Your Phone Number on Discord?

You can verify your phone number from within the Discord app.

You don’t need to open a browser or anything.

Go to your Discord Settings – Account – Phone. Once you’re there, enter your phone number, and Discord will send a verification code to your phone.

Enter the verification code into the app and enter your Discord account password.

Once you do that, your phone will appear as verified, and it will show up in your Discord account settings.

It won’t be made public, though.

It’s easier to do this on your phone since you have to verify your phone number either way.

You’ll be doing it on a single device all the way through.

Follow the steps below to verify your phone number on Discord:

  • Tap on your profile and then on “Account”

Once you open Discord on your phone, you’ll land in the Direct Messages tab.

At the bottom, you’ll see five tabs. You’re on the one to the left – Chats.

To verify your phone number, you need to go to Account Settings.

To do this, go to your profile. It’s the button to the right on the bottom bar. It shows your profile picture.

Tap on it, and you’ll get to your profile.

There, you’ll see your profile picture and username.

Under it, you’ll see the “User Settings”. Look at this menu for the “My Account” option.

Tap on it to go to the Account Settings.

You can also change your password here or activate Two-Factor Authentication.

Tap on “Phone” to begin the verification process.

  • Add your phone number and tap on “Next”

Discord will send a random 6-digit code to your mobile phone.

You’ll need to enter your Discord account password to finalize the verification process.

After you verify your phone number, it’ll appear in the “Account Information” section of your profile settings.

This shows you’ve verified your phone number and that you’re allowed to access some of the features on high-security Discord severs.

If you want to change your phone number in the feature, you can change it here.

Go to your profile – Account Settings – Phone, and do the same thing to verify another phone number.

Conclusion

Not all Discord servers require you to verify your phone number.

Only those with the “Highest” verification level have this requirement.

Some servers don’t even have any requirements so that you can access all their features as a new user.

To verify your phone number, go to Account Settings – Phone. Enter your phone number, and you’ll receive a code on your phone.

Enter the code in the appropriate field, provide your account password, and you’re done.

This process takes 3-5 minutes, depending on how fast you receive the verification code on your phone.

After you verify your phone number, you’ll be able to chat on these “Highest”-security Discord servers.

FAQ

Why do some Discord servers require you to verify your phone number?

Because of spamming.

Discord has its fair share of spammers who ruin the experience for everyone else.

Not everyone is genuinely interested in Discord’s features as a communication app.

Some people join servers only to promote products and services or to spam.

That’s why server owners have started to impose certain security requirements.

This stops most spammers from joining the group because they’re not interested in going through the extra steps.

Moreover, such security features will stop bots completely.

Discord has problems with bots, as well.

Fortunately, bots are much easier to prevent than human spammers.

Bots can’t complete security checks or verify phone numbers, so these security measures are most effective.
