Even though it’s not very advertiser-friendly, one thing TikTok does good is create engagement through its short clips.
In this article, I’ll show you the most popular TikTok videos of all time, based on their number of views on the platform.
Let’s start, shall we?
1. Zack King’s Magic Ride – 2.2 Billion Views
This one is a no-brainer. You should have seen it at least a couple dozen times. Zach King is the…king of entertainment and illusion on TikTok and not only.
His video about flying on a Hogwarts broom is “the” most popular TikTok video ever. With 2.2 billion views and still counting, I don’t see how this video will be matched soon.
Clearly, the video is manipulated in some kind of way. Even though you see Zack is actually riding on a skateboard and holding a mirror to the side, that’s just half the trick.
The video was also edited in post-production, most likely. Still, it makes for one entertaining video that you just keep watching!
2. James Charles’ Sister’s Christmas Party – 1.7 Billion Views
James Charles is a content creator in the beauty industry, apparently. And he’s very popular on TikTok for his makeup skills.
But his most popular video has nothing to do with makeup. It’s a sketch of his sister’s Christmas party in 2019, and the transition showcased in the video is really smart and well-played.
The video had over 1.7 billion views last time I checked and it’s still bringing it more views. Will it beat Zach King’s video? Doubt.
But we’ll see!
3. Zach King’s Unexpected Hiding Spots – 1.1 Billion Views
With over 1.1 billion views, Zach King’s Unexpected Hiding Spots is number three on our list. Did you think that was the last Zach King video on this list? Hah!
This one shows Zach King participating in a game of hide-and-seek with his friends, and he’s all out of hiding places. Or is he?
Like the master illusionist he is, he quickly walks through the mirror and hides in a closet on “the other side“. There are a ton of transitions in this video, most likely. But that’s just how Zach King rolls!
4. Glass and Cake Illusion by Zach King – 966.4 Million Views
Zach King is again in the 4th spot with his Glass and Cake illusion with almost 1 billion views. In this video, he fills up a glass with water, places it on the table, and cuts it with a knife to reveal that it was actually cake.
How does he do that? Very intelligent and seamless transitioning and video editing, that’s how. He calls it perspective magic.
And for all intents and purposes, that’s exactly what it is for most people who don’t know how transitioning works.
This is why Zach King is the king of TikTok!
5. “M to the B” lip-syncing by Bella Poarch – 690.6 Million Views
Meet Bella Poarch, an American TikToker well known for her lip-syncing and other…stuff she does on the platform. Her video of lip-syncing to the “M to the B” song is the fifth most popular TikTok video in the world.
With almost 700 million views, she also has the most number of likes, 61.7 million.
The video is entertaining because her lip-syncing is very well done and she’s nodding her head to the rhythm, which would put anyone in a good mood.
6. Zach King’s Wet Wall Illusion – 659.6 Million Views
This is the last you’ll see of Zach King on this list, promise! His Wet Wall Illusion video garnered 659.6 million views, though.
This makes it the 6th most viewed TikTok video in the world at the time of writing this article.
In the video, Zach uses loops and smart transitions to turn a hallway that he comes through into a painted wall seamlessly.
In the end, you’ll have your head turned sideways by the ingenious use of video manipulation and the crisp editing skills involved in this video.
These optical effects make you question the nature of reality and your purpose in the universe. But that’s Zach King for you!
7. Sorrel Horse Dancing to “Say It Right” – 421.3 Million Views
Meet Jammie Sorrel Horse. A video of him lip-syncing and dancing to Nelly Furtado’s “Say It Right” made it number 7 in the list of most popular TikTok videos.
If you haven’t seen this video or you don’t know who this guy is, you’re not alone. But his 421 million views tell a tale of massive popularity for Mister Sorrel Horse.
I recommend you go watch a couple of his videos just to see what he’s been up to on the platform. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a fresh source of great content to consume!
8. An Adorable Baby Laughing by Daexo – 392.4 Million Views
Daexo took over TikTok with this video of a super adorable baby laughing at her singing. The video got over 392.4 million views and is still getting attention even today.
Dae Warner uploaded this video on her TikTok account showing her baby’s adorable laughter for pure entertainment.
Check out her page for more adorable content with her baby but we both know you’ll be coming back to this video over and over again.
There’s no denying the adorable smile of this baby!
9. How to Spot an Approaching Car by Khaby Lame – 350.3 Million Views
There’s no way you don’t know who Khaby Lame is. He’d be King of TikTok if it weren’t for Zach King. To some, he’s the absolute best content creator on the platform.
This particular video has him making fun of another video where someone mounted a side mirror on the side of the car to check if there were cars coming from behind.
Instead, Khaby just lowers the window and looks behind the car. With his eyes. Who would have thought to do that? It also costs $0.
Granted, it’s not as cool as mounting a side mirror, I’ll give you that.
10. Billie Eilish’s Time Warp Scan – 348 Million Views
Here’s Billie Eilish. Her video of a time warp scan is the 10th most popular video on TikTok at 348 million views. Why is it so popular? Well, because she’s Billie Eilish.
This was her first ever TikTok on the platform, and it amassed crazy views and attention from her fans. Just check the comments section!
This is one of the most basic things you can do on TikTok. Plus, it’s 9 seconds long. But because it’s Eilish doing this, it suddenly becomes the most interesting and engaging thing in the world.
Try putting yourself in a fan’s place and you’ll understand.
But that’s all I have for you today. Stay tuned for more interesting social media content!
