Technology has its bad days, and Snapchat is no different.
“Oops! We could not find matching credentials” – just the sight of it infuriates me. Well, luckily, the fix is simple enough – change your password and log into the app to fix it.
You’ll need your user email and phone number to change your password, though. Here’s a guide on how to do it:
- Open the App and tap on “Switch Account”
- Tap on “Forgot Your Password”
- Select “Email” or “Phone”
- Enter your Email and tap on “Submit”
- Open your Snapchat email and tap on the link
- Change your password
Are these steps not clear enough? Then I recommend going through my guide below. It includes screenshots and step-by-step instructions to help you out!

Guide on Resetting Password on Snapchat
Follow my instructions to reset your password on Snapchat:
1. Open Snapchat and tap on Switch Account
Assuming Snapchat is opened already, tap the “Switch account” option in the bottom-right corner of the Snapchat login screen.
2. Tap on Forgot Your Password
Next, you should have been redirected to the login screen. Ignore it. Instead, choose “Forgot your password?” to start the password resetting process.
3. Select Email or Phone
Now, you’ll be asked to select a method to reset your password. Phone or email. I’ll select “Email” for this guide, so you’d better do the same.
4. Enter your Email and tap on Submit
Enter your email address (you’ll receive a password reset link on it) and select “Submit” (see the image above) to continue.
5. Open your Snapchat email and tap on the link
Now, open your email provider (Google in my case) and search for the Snapchat password reset email. Open it and tap the provided link.
6. Change your password
Remember the link from before? Yeah, tapping on it will take you to this page (see above). Enter your new password, confirm it, and select “Save“.
Done, the error was fixed and you got me to thank for that. You’re welcome 😀
