To delete contacts on Telegram, you need to do the following:

1. Tap on a friend’s chat icon on Telegram
2. Once you’re in the chat, tap on their name at the top of the page
3. Select the three-dot icon in the top-right corner
4. Select “Delete contact“
5. Confirm

Delete Telegram Contacts on a Mobile Phone

Deleting a contact from the Telegram app is very easy if you’re using Telegram on your mobile phone. Follow the steps below to do it:

1. Select a contact in your Telegram list

Once you open Telegram on your mobile device, you’ll land on your chat list. This is where you’ll see all the chats with your Telegram friends.

Select a chat with the friend you want to delete as contact from Telegram.

2. Tap on their name at the top of the chat page

After you open the chat with your friend, you’ll see the most recent messages you’ve sent. Look at your friend’s username and profile picture at the top of the chat page.

Tap on it to continue!

3. Select the three-dot icon in the top-right corner

After tapping your friend’s username, you’ll land on a settings page. This is the settings page for that person’s contact information on your Telegram account.

Look in the top-right corner and tap on the three-dot icon!

4. Select “Delete Contact“

After you tap on the three-dot icon, a pop-up settings window will open. You’ll see several options, including “Auto-Delete,” “Share contact,” “Block user,” “Edit contact,” and more.

Select the “Delete contact” option from the menu.

5. Confirm the deletion

After selecting “Delete contact, ” you’ll be asked to confirm your action by tapping “Delete” again. Do this, and you’re done.

Now, that contact is gone from your Telegram account.

Delete Telegram Contacts on a Computer

Are you using Telegram on your computer, and do you want to delete some contacts? You can do that by following the steps below:

1. Select a contact from your list

Once you open Telegram on your computer, you’ll see a list of all your contacts and conversations with them.

Find the person you want to remove from Telegram and click on their chat.

2. Click on their profile name at the top of the chat page

Once you open a chat with your friend, look up. You’ll see their profile name and picture at the top of the chat page.

3. Click on the three-dot icon

After selecting their profile name on Telegram, you’ll be taken to a settings page. This is the “User Info” page, as you can see at the top.

Look in the top-right corner for a three-dot icon and click on it.

4. Click on “Delete contact“

Finally, once you select the three-dot icon in the top-right corner, you’ll open a dropdown settings window with several options.

Select “Delete contact” from the list. It’s the last option there. Then, when asked to confirm your action, select “Delete” again.

This will permanently delete the contact from your Telegram account

How Can You Desync Contacts on Telegram?

Do you want to desync your contacts on Telegram so your phone contacts don’t get transferred to your Telegram account?

You can do that from the Privacy settings in your Telegram account. Follow the steps below to do that:

1. Tap on the three-dash icon in the top-left corner

Open Telegram on your phone and tap on the three-dash icon in the top-left corner. This will take you to the Telegram menu, where you can access the settings.

2. Select “Settings“

Once you open the side menu on Telegram, you’ll need to find the “Settings” option. It’s toward the end of the options list, just above the “Invite Friends” option.

3. Select “Privacy and Security“

Once you get to your Telegram settings, you’ll see many options. Look for the “Privacy and Security” option and click on it.

It’s under the “Notifications and Sounds” option.

4. Uncheck the “Sync Contacts” option

Once you’re in the “Privacy and Security” menu in Telegram, find the “Sync Contacts” option and uncheck it. It should already be checked.

After you uncheck it, Telegram will stop taking on your phone contacts and creating profiles for them on Telegram.

The “Suggest Frequent Contacts” option should still be on, though. This way, you can manually allow certain contacts from your phone to be transferred to Telegram.

Conclusion

To summarize, you can delete contacts from Telegram by chatting with your friend, then go to their profile, click/tap on the three-dot icon, and select “Delete Contact.”

If you want to delete the chat, hold-tap/right-click on the chat and select “Delete Chat.” This will delete the Telegram contacts from your phone. However, the chat will remain.
